Fitting, balancing and maintenance
Mounting, balancing, rotations, pressure checks and spare fitting for cars, trucks and SUVs, done same day in most cases.
Chapter 01
Most tire problems start at fitting
A tire that was rushed onto the rim will tell you within a fortnight. It vibrates at highway speed, it wears unevenly on one shoulder, or the wheel weights come off and the balance goes with them. None of that is the tire's fault.
Getting it right is unglamorous and mostly about not skipping steps: seating the bead properly, balancing the assembly rather than guessing, torquing to spec instead of running a gun until it stops, and actually setting the pressures at the end.

What the everyday work covers
Tire installation and balancing, rotations, flat repair and patching, tire pressure checks and spare tire fitting. It is the ordinary maintenance that decides whether a set reaches the mileage it was sold on or gives up two-thirds of the way there.
The Automotive Center at 6903 Lyons Ave handles cars, trucks and SUVs, and most of this work is same day. Call (713) 234-0629 with the year, make and model, or the size off the sidewall, and we will quote before you come in.
If we spot something while the wheel is off, a nail you had not noticed or a shoulder wearing faster than the rest, we will tell you what we found and what it needs, which is a different conversation from being sold four tires you did not come in for.
Chapter 03
The habit that doubles a set's life
Check pressures monthly and rotate on schedule. That is genuinely most of it. Under-inflation is behind more ruined tires than potholes, because it wears the shoulders, runs the casing hot and does it all without ever looking obviously flat.
Once a month, cold, with a real gauge rather than the garage forecourt one. If you would rather we did it, drop in and we will check them at the counter.
